Foxconn intends to develop the electric vehicle market, aiming to capture 10% of the global share!

    According to Reuters’ Chinese website on the 16th, Foxconn said on Friday that it hopes to take a 10% share of the global electric vehicle market from 2025 to 2027. It has already negotiated further cooperation with a number of automakers.
    The official name of Taiwan’s Foxconn contract manufacturer is Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., and it is Apple’s main supplier.
    The report stated that the company is seeking new growth in industries such as electric vehicles, digital healthcare and robotics to promote the diversification of its global investments.
    Liu Yangwei, chairman of Hon Hai, pointed out in a meeting that it is necessary to prepare an open platform for electric vehicles as soon as possible and strive for market share. Hon Hai will provide car dealers on the platform including batteries and equipment for connecting to the Internet. “We want to bring Taiwan’s electric vehicle industry to the world.”
    According to the report, Liu Yangwei expects to take 10% of the global electric vehicle market share from 2025 to 2027, which is about 3 million vehicles.
    Liu Yangwei emphasized that the group will not have its own electric vehicle brand, but will cooperate with many brand companies and still focus on providing key components.
