TE China Automotive Division reform and expansion project started.

Recently, TE Connectivity (TE) China Automotive Division Kunshan K2 plant (“K2 factory”) to expand the project held a start-up ceremony. The plant is another important step in TE’s localization of China, following the automotive division’s three major plants in Suzhou. The renovation and expansion project for the first phase of K2, building area of 15,000 square meters, will be stationed in injection molding, assembly, combination molding and other production lines.
Previously, TE China Automotive had two proprietary production sites and a rental plant, both located in Suzhou Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province, with a total production area of 95,000 square meters. Mainly produce terminals and connectors, sensors, high-voltage products developed specifically for new energy vehicles, high-speed data connection and wireless connectivity solutions for intelligent networking, as well as relays, central electrical boxes, special wire sets, electromechanical complexes and shrink sleeves and other products.
In the current complex market environment, the expansion initiative undoubtedly releases a positive signal. As Mr. Li Wanxiang, Vice President and General Manager of TE China Automotive, said, “In a challenging environment, TE Kunshan K2 plant expansion project is still successfully started, which shows that TE has full confidence in the development of China Automotive Division.” It is reported that te Kunshan K2 plant is expected to be successfully put into operation in 2021, thereby further expanding TE’s production and operation capacity in China.
