Types and functions of springs

    1. Spring classification
    There are many kinds of spring. According to the nature of the load it bears, the spring can be divided into four types: tension spring, compression spring, torsion spring and bending spring. According to the spring shape, it can be divided into spiral spring, disc spring, ring spring, plate spring, coil spring, etc. the basic types of various springs are listed in the table
    Coil spring is one of the most commonly used torsion springs. Coil spring has the characteristics of large number of turns, large deformation and large energy storage. It is mostly used for pressing, instruments, clocks and other power devices. Plate spring can bear large bending effect, and is often used in occasions with limited load direction and large deformation. Due to its good vibration elimination ability, the plate spring has good vibration elimination ability, Therefore, this spring is widely used in the suspension devices of automobiles, tractors and railway vehicles
    2. Spring function
    Spring is a kind of elastic element which works through its own large elastic deformation. It is widely used in various machines
    1) Control mechanical movement, such as internal combustion engine control cylinder valve opening and closing spring, clutch control spring (see figure a);
    2) Absorption of vibration and impact energy, such as damping springs in various vehicles (see Figure b) and springs of various buffers, etc;
    3) Storage and release of energy, such as clock springs (see Figure C), bolt springs, etc;
    4) Measure the magnitude of the force, such as the spring scale (see Fig. d) and the spring in the dynamometer, etc
